Long Life Structures was established by Emmet Nee in February 2015.

Emmet is a third generation carpenter with over 15 years timber frame experience in North America, Europe and Ireland. He is a certified International Passive House consultant and tradesman, whose experience in the low energy building industry has earned him a training position in Sustainable Building Practices. Emmet has a proven track record in the construction of timber frame buildings and has received certification in passive housing and sustainable energy technology using timber frame construction from the Komzet Centre of Excellence for carpentry in Bieberach, Germany. This extensive experience enables Emmet to deliver both on site and class room training in cutting edge building methods such as timber frame construction, airtightness, wood fibre and calcium silicate insulations.

Early in 2016 Ollie O Brien joined the company to further develop the design department.

Ollie has over 15 years experience in low energy buildings as a lead designer. His Qualifications include a Diploma in Architectural Technology & Construction Studies from the Cork Institute of Technology, a qualified BER & Thermal Bridge Assessor and an International Passive House Designer & Consultant from the Passive House Academy. Most recently he was awarded a Masters in Architectural and Environmental Science for Sustainability accredited by the University of East London.

The main focus of the Company and its staff is based in environmental construction, specialising in low energy timber frame and passive house construction.
